Coca Cola Burgers

The summer is here! I am so excited about it being warm outside. I just love the summer smells. You know, the smell of fresh cut grass, kids playing in the streets, and the smell of a grill! Last summer Liz and I wanted to get creative and add a twist to our outdoor cooking. One of the items on the list was the Coke Burger. I found this recipe on allrecipes.com last summer. I've only tried them once, but they turned out great. This meal coupled with any Mexican beverage makes for a great meal.

COKE BURGERS

INGREDIENTS
1 egg
1/2 cup cola-flavored carbonated beverage, divided
1/2 cup crushed saltine crackers
6 tablespoons French salad dressing, divided
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 pounds ground beef

DIRECTIONS
Preheat a grill for high heat. When the grill is hot, lightly oil the grate.
In a medium bowl, mix together the egg, 1/4 cup of cola, crackers, 2 tablespoons of French dressing, and Parmesan cheese. Crumble in the ground beef, and mix well. Form into 6 balls, and pat into 3/4 inch patties. Pour the remaining cola and dressing into a small bowl, and mix well.
Grill burgers for about 3 minutes per side. Brush with the dressing and cola, then grill for 8 to 10 more minutes, basting occasionally.

Where are they now?

Do you ever wonder sometimes where are these people now? I wonder about people like Bo Jackson and Mugsy Bouges. What are they doing and where in the world are they? Each Thursday I am going to dedicate my page to this question and I will ask you the reader to just come up with people that you wonder about and I will try my best to find out.

I am going to start this Thursday with Dennis Rodman-- the WORM. Remember him? This guy was a wild as they come. The hair, the run, the rebound king. His personality on the floor was one you would pay to watch.

Rodman played for the Detroit Pistons for a few years and won 2 NBA titles but is most remembered for the shenanigans that he pulled as a Chicago Bull (like this one to the right). Rodman averaged over 13 rebounds per game and could change a game with out ever taking a shot. He also was the only guy that I know that could marry himself during a stint where the Bulls were on a record breaking season and everyone like it! But what you want to know is where is he now?'
I have attached part of an article I found today at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Rodman and it looks as if he is still trying to hoop some. Here is a pick of Dennis the Menace with some shorties:
(wonder who was the leading rebounder in this game?)
What tha? Read on....
"After his stint with the Bulls, Rodman became a journeyman. He briefly joined the Los Angeles Lakers (wearing number 73) and helped them to a 17-6 record while averaging 11.2 rebounds per game. However, when Rodman went on a leave of absence for personal reasons the Lakers released him soon after. The following season Dallas Maverick owner Mark Cuban would sign Rodman. Over 12 games for Dallas Rodman averaged 14.3 rebounds per game. However, the Mavericks still had little success and Rodman was released after some critical comments of Cuban. After a long break, he played for the Long Beach Jam of the newly-formed American Basketball Association during the 2003-04 season, with hopes of being called up to the NBA midseason. In the 2004-05 season, Rodman signed with the ABA's Orange County Crush and the following season with the league's Tijuana Dragons. He has also competed in three games for the Brighton Bears of the British Basketball League and one game for Torpan Pojat of the Finland's basketball league, Korisliiga since leaving the NBA."
His last big stat was that he was arrested for domestic assault where he has beaten up a guy in a LOS ANGELES HOTEL. That is life as a bad boy. There has also been some argument over whether or not he should be entered into the NBA hall of fame. My answer is yes. He was a part of five NBA titles and won 2 defensive player of the year awards. I think that he is in. Let me know your opinion.
Who do you want to know about? Let me know and next Thursday I will pick em.

Kobe, Jordan, Lebron

If there was 2 min. left in a game which one of these guys would you choose? As I am sitting here watching the game where Kobe just does what ever he wants to do against one of the best defensive players in the league I have to say that my so solid answer to every basketball question (MJ) gets threatened a little more every day I watch this kid. As if his 81 pts in a game last year wasn't ridiculous enough, this year the kid wins the NBA MVP award while playing with a sub par cast.

On the other hand you have Lebron who is a man child and grew an inch over the summer. This kid is the poster child for the NBA future and led even a weaker team into the finals last year. He is a freak of nature and is basically can not be gaurded by anyone in the NBA. When he gets going move out tha way! He is 6'9 240 and can dribble shoot and defend. Oh yeah and he is only like 22 years old ARE YOU KIDDING ME! My kid will have what ever his mom was feeding him. He will play til he is 37 and will wins titles. Would you pick him? Or....

Last but not least my main man. I remember my dad would say, son Jordan is like the Dr. J of my time. And I would look at him and say.....Dad there has never been a man like Jordan. This guy could be one of the best sports figures ever. I mean when you think of greats his name is there. This guy could honestly fly! Here is a highlight of himhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FPk9QEtMU4 in case you forgot about my man and how nice he was. 6 titles *could have easily have been 8 too many MVP's to count. and a killa fade away shot. And did I mention that he could actually fly. If I had my pick of the 3 guys with 2 minutes left and the game tied.... out of all of their primes .... Lebron is handicapped here, I would take MJ. If you were still uncertain about my pick just go and you tube Chicago and Utah game 6. The last minutes of that game will convince you. He was spectacular.

Who do you like? And why?

My first BLOG

This is my first Blog. I hope that by creating this blog and reading others, I can rekindle some of my passion for creating and thinking. My wife has one and I love reading hers so much that I never even thought about making my own. She represents the Wiggs' household pretty solid but there are a few things that I would love to add.

Thanks in advance for reading and I hope that it adds to what you already know about my wife and I.
