Rubbing it in!

Ok so my wife is in California with some girlfriends for the weekend. She is there to train and learn even more cool photo ideas to bring back to you guys in Memphis! I am really excited about her journey as a photographer. What I am not so excited about is the fact that she is rubbing it in about her time there sending cool picks of her at the beach watching the sun rise. See below:

That is just wrong to do! (I am so kidding by the way.) I am just really excited to see someone take a talent like she has been blessed with and do something so beautiful with it. This post is to you hunny! Keep up the good work! Have a great time in Cali and get home to me safely.

Love ya!

I AM BACK!!!!

It has been so long since I have been able to find time to post on here. My wife does such a great job of capturing our lives on her blog that I sometimes can get lazy! Well today I wanted to post about history being made in our country. I know that so much has been much said of Barack Obama and his historic week. I thought that it was really cool that I was able to see this history take place. All other things aside whether you are a democrat or republican I think that it is safe to say that our country has come a long way as a culture. Overall I was very excited about it. To think of my grandfather who had a grandmother who did not have the rights that I have today. To think about the fact that he sat and watch a African American man take the oath to lead this country for the next four years excites me. See I never could fathom what his eyes have seen, I never could anticipate the pure joy that is running through his soul, I never could imagine how impossible this week could have seemed to him. That is what makes this weekend so beautiful to me. Our country is in a tough place right now. I just hope that everyone is in prayer during this time. One for our President, that he makes good sound decisions that will shape us not only for the next four years, but for many. And two that we can better hold ourselves accountable for our actions. To sum it all up this week made me once again proud to be an American!

Great meal. Great Time.

Last night, just before watching a great game (Florida vs. OU), Liz and I cooked steak and potatoes for dinner. While cooking, I thought that we should put some music on, have some wine, and just dance around the kitchen a little (cheezy, I know). During this time, Liz made a comment about the kind of music we listen to and wanted to see if we could mix it up a little. She really wanted us to go back to her high school/college days and listen to music that she really enjoyed then. Among some of her classics were Bob Dylan and The Steve Miller Band. There was also a burned CD that apparently her and her roomates created called "The Make Out CD". I won't unpack this CD too much since I obviously was not the one she was making out to it with in college (but I must say that there was some really good songs on it)! After listening to all of the cds, my favorite was The Steve Miller Band. Overall, it was nice getting to cook and dance in the kitchen with my wife while listening to some great music. We definitely need to do this more often.

The meal was awesome. Below is a picture of my plate...... Good stuff!
